Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano won her several awards including an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her career in acting by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. From the time she was a child she's been passionate about performing. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. Mumps caused her to be blind and deaf in one ear. However, she refused to let that to stop her from becoming an actress. She studied drama at college after which she moved to Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. The play was Hunter's first acting debut. Her first film role came following her move in Los Angeles. Her work spans over thirty years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows, films and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
